A Canadian North Airlines passenger jet made an emergency single engine landing at Fredericton International Airport (YFC) in Lincoln, New Brunswick, Canada.  All 32 people aboard the Boeing 737-200 were OK after the incident early today.

According to news reports, the plane was flying between St. John’s International Airport (YYT) in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG) in Winnipeg, Manitoba before problems with the left engine caused the plane to detour.  Apparently, the flight crew preemptively shut down the left engine after a low oil pressure indication.  The plane landed using only the right engine and without further incident at YFC.

It is unclear if this flight was a regularly scheduled Canadian North route or a charter since the route is not displayed in the airline’s website.  The flight was mostly full of workers heading to Canada’s oil sand fields in Ft. McMurray (Alberta).
