Pilot crashes into his own house.
An ultralight crashed into a Chertsey, Quebec home north of Montreal, Canada. The Spectrum Beaver RX550 crashed after taking off from a frozen lake near the house yesterday (March 16, 2010) afternoon. The two people on board were OK, although the pilot suffered some injuries.
The pilot and his son were departing the frozen lake when the aircraft failed to clear a group of trees after the takeoff run. The ultralight clipped the trees and crashed into the house, which the pilot owned. Officials have not reported on why the plane may have failed to clear the trees.
