Updated: Plane crashes in Georgia seriously injuring pilot.

Ken Flaglor Scooter similar to accident plane.
(The pilot in the accident posted a note in the comments below that provides better information than I’ll ever be able to give you since I am relatively unfamiliar with the Flaglor Scooter.)
A pilot was seriously injured on March 30th near Griffin, Georgia when his airplane crashed soon after takeoff from Beaverbrook Aerodrome (10GA), a private airstrip in Spalding County. The plane, a Ken Flaglor Sky Scooter (N3248Q), was departing the airstrip when its Volkswagen conversion engine quit, forcing the pilot to land in a nearby field with a slight incline. The plane crashed hard and pilot Kenny Rogers suffered a broken leg. The aircraft itself was badly damaged.
Cheryl Fields, the daughter of pilot Kenny Rogers, was kind enough to contact Velozia and let me know that the accident occurred at 1:30 PM and, more importantly, that her father was back at home (no cast on his leg!!). A rod was surgically inserted in his left femur. Its great to hear when pilots are OK after these accidents.

[...] Ultralight crashes in Georgia. [...]
I was the pilot of the Flaglor Scooter that crashed in Griffin, Georgia. First off, the Scooter is the best flying airplane I have ever been in. I have around 400 hrs. in the Scooter aircraft, so I feel I am qualified to say that. The engine was a 1600 VW with a Weber carb, and Slick mag. 29 different pilots have flown my Scooter and all had a smile on their face. No way did I try to make people think that this aircraft was an Ultralight. It had the N number on the tail with the experimental sticker on, and was a registered aircraft in annual. Thanks to all who wished me well and a speedy recovery!!!!
